The Adventures of Dave and Augie was accepted as one out of 22 finalists (out of 175 submissions) for the 2006 New York Television Festival, an event for independent television pilot producers that was held between September 12th-17th in New York City. The video was presented in the Educational category and received excellent reviews.

"I haven't learned so much from a kid show since "Schoolhouse Rock" taught me how a bill becomes a law. This pilot is hip, funny, and crammed with information. In spite of its user-friendly drive-by pacing, it manages to convey its data in such a way that you pay attention as well as remember. Dave and Augie are reminiscent but not derivative of the Muppets, and Hillary Scott is really wonderful as their human counterpart."
